my gastroparesis story (part 1)//what is gastroparesis, what symptoms I had and how I was diagnosed HD
Welcome to part one of my gastroparesis story! I am 22 years old and was diagnosed with gastroparesis back in April of 2019, about 1 ½ years after my symptoms began. My gastroparesis was idiopathic (meaning doctors did not know what caused it) and I struggled with debilitating symptoms of nausea, weight loss, lack of appetite, constipation and bloating. In just one short year after being diagnosed with gastroparesis, I have been through many ups and downs including a week long hospital stay due to malnourishment, an NJ tube, horrible doctors appointments, amazing doctors appointments, many many tests, including the smart pill, and the GPOEM procedure. I had the GPOEM/POP procedure in February of 2020 and have been doing amazing ever since. Pretty much all of my symptoms are gone and I have resumed a normal diet. This surgery has been an absolute miracle for me. I wanted to make this video to help educate others on gastroparesis and hopefully help people with gastroparesis understand they are not alone and to hopefully provide some hope. I hope you enjoy the video and please leave any questions down below and I will answer them!
