Suzuki had recently showcased the X-Lander Concept, and now it seems that the Suzuki Jimny or the new Maruti Gypsy will be based on that concept. The design concept showcased will be the new design language that Suzuki will follow for its new vehicles. Recently, Tata Safari Storme bagged the order for new army vehicles, this is due to the fact that the Gypsy will be discontinued. As Suzuki is looking at shifting its production base to India for most of the products, we can expect this new Gypsy/Jimny to be made here and sold in India as well. We reckon the new Gypsy will be placed at INR 5 lakhs to INR 8 lakhs (on-road). This will get a new design, more features and shall continue to be an AWD. We reckon this will be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, and that is where it could get unveiled. The front grille has vertical slats and the head lamps are well-chiselled. The design of the front bumper looks new and fresh. Of course there will be several changes, but the design language will be the same. The X-Lander Concept showcased was a two-door just like the Jimny or the Gypsy. The glass underneath the door won’t make it into production. The tail lamps somewhat seem to be inspired from the Range Rover.
