Patient runner. Doesn’t allow defenders a good shot at him in the open field. Tulane the front runner followed by Army, Nicholls State, Jackson State, SFA and Troy. Tie-No. 25 OG Jeremiah James (6-1, 285) De La Salle Also an outstanding wrestler. Boasts a 600 lbs. squat. Tremendous run blocker. Drives opponent off the ball. Gets under his pads and locks onto defender. Balance and leverage. Nicholls watching along with ULM, SLU, McNeese and Southern. No. 24 ATH Julien Gums (5-10, 212) De La Salle Currently runs a 4.57 forty but that will improve when he begins track season. 300 lbs. bench press, 505 squat with a 3.3 GPA in academics. Totaled 1.141 yards passing with 20 touchdowns. 575 yards on the ground with 10 TD’s. Was District 9 3A MVP. Southern Miss and Nicholls monitoring. He appears to be ideal fit on Sun Belt roster. No. 23 RB Corey Williamson (6-1, 205) St. Paul’s Had 1,157 yards rushing with 17 scores in 2016. Patient runner who will continue to build up his frame. Quicker than he appears. Good vision, sees backside hole. Good feet and receiver. Attention from Tulane, UL Lafayette, Kansas, McNeese, La. Tech and Northwestern State. No. 22 WR Sheldon “Sticks” Jones (5-9, 160) Warren Easton Committed to UTSA. Memphis and Jackson State trying to pry him away. Can line as WR/CB/ KR/ PR. Athletic, good separation in route, high points ball, adjusts to throw, super hands, great upside. No. 21 ATH Nick Martin-Morman (5-10, 167) Northlake Christian Had over 1,000 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns, snared 18 passes for additional 323 yards. As a defensive back, will step up and challenge run. Runs a 4.45 40-yard dash. Confidence, flies to the ball. Comes downhill. Good open field tackler. Named All District on both offense and defense. No. 20 ATH Lloyd Nash (5-11, 165) St. Charles Catholic In 2016 he tallied 1,785 all-purpose yards. Season high mark was 322 yards rushing against Newman. Explosive, good football IQ, super athletic. Can use 4.4 speed to play wide receiver or cornerback in college. Trying to catch him is like trying to catch a mosquito in a cow pasture. He also excels on the diamond and can fly around the bases. Nicholls, SLU, Tulane and UL Lafayette taking a long, hard look at both sports. No. 19 RB Devin Brumfield (5-9, 207) Covington Recorded 1,553 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2016. For his career he has 4,134 yards. Terrific balance, a north-south runner, great extra effort, breaks tackles with a low center of gravity. Mississippi State offered back on Aug. 25. No. 18 OT Deron Mack (6-4 1/2, 285) McDonogh 35 Good knee bend, moves his feet well. Plays snap to whistle. Can pull and get to second level. Good arm extension. Missouri, Miami, Kansas, Auburn and Texas all have him rated high. No. 17 WR Jamaal Jolla (6-2, 190) St. Augustine
