Train : 02655 Ahmedabad - Chennai Central Navajeevan Express Loco : Erode WAP7 #37312 Date : 02 Jan 2021 from Ahmedabad Navajivan Express The 12655 / 12656 Navjeevan Express is a Superfast train belonging to Southern Railways that runs between Ahmedabad Junction and Chennai Central. It is currently being operated with 12655/12656 train numbers on a daily basis.From November 2, 2019 it runs with highly refurbished LHB coaches. It operates as train number 12655 from Ahmedabad Junction to Chennai Central and as train number 12656 in the reverse direction serving the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. History if Navjivan Express It was introduced in 1978 to run between Madras Beach and Ahmedabad Junction on a weekly basis. Originally numbered as 145/146, it departed Madras Beach at 06:00 on Tuesdays and arrived Ahmedabad Junction the next day at 17:30. On its return lap, it departed Ahmedabad Junction on Thursdays at 06:50, and reached Madras Beach the next evening at 19:50. Over the few decades, the train got rerouted via Vijayawada, Balharshah, Wardha, Bhusaval, Surat instead of Renigunta, Wadi, Daund, Manmad, Surat. It also got a speed up quite a few times. In the new Zero Based Timetable, the train has been given a completely new slot and schedule from Ahmedabad, where it departs in the night and reaches Chennai in the early morning. This makes it a very comfortable train to travel from Gujarat to Andhra and Tamil Nadu.
