altum inirida batch 6-08 ver 1.MOV

This is my 150G (48LX32HX24D), 11 P. altum (24 mo. old), 2 S. discus discus (Negro/Nhamunda) male and female (+/- 4 yrs old), 1 L-128 male (hidden), manzanita, river sand (Caribsea Torpedo Beach), Eheim 2260/spraybar, Jaebo 36W UV: Water parameters: pH 4.8, TDS 50ppm, peat/catappa/HCL/Kent BW Expert: Diet: Frozen bloodworm, frozen enhanced brine shrimp, live fruit flies, live blackworms, BSD beef heart flake, The P. altum were collected at under 10mm SL, 1st week June 2008 from the Inirida River in Colombia (info from exporter), imported to US by Dan Villasenor 7/15/2008 (10-15mm). Dan shipped them to me 10 days later, so these fish are very close to 24mo old. Size can be compared to the adult heckel pair (6.5 inch SL, male and 5.5 inch SL, female). The altum do not have a uniform size despite same batch and vary from 2.75 to 3.5 inches SL. This may be due to stress related issues affecting them last fall through winter 2009.
