Ep1: Are You In The Right Class? HD

The Folkgard Radio Show and Podcast Introductory Episode, "Are You In The Right Class?" Hail and welcome to The Folkgard Radio Show and Podcast. I am your host for today’s show, Roland L’Heureux, Gothi for the Folkgard of Holda and Odin. Beginning with our next episode, I am excited to announce, I will also be joined by our co-host and Kinsman “down under,” Paul Wolf Fagan, Chieftain of our Australian Innangard. Everyone who has ever attended school above the first grade in the US has heard the oh so familiar first day, classic introductory speech, “are you in the right class.” In one way or another some form of this speech is typically given in most educational and small group settings. Following suit, today’s show, being our first episode, will consist of segments which will introduce listeners to our kindred, our mission, our philosophy, and our goal for these presentations. Specifically, today’s “are you in the right class” episode will begin with an overview of our kindred’s organizational status, our mission, and our general house rules. We will then have a short segment consisting of an interview from a recent Red Ice TV production featuring Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya [shree-dharma-pra/var/ta/ka A-shar-ee-a]. These brief clips were presented in our pilot show and are presented here again as a type of preamble for our podcasts in general and for today’s presentation in particular. Following and spring boarding from these brief video clips, I will then read Bil Linzie’s Asatru Folk Manifesto as well as the Asatru Folk Assembly’s Declaration of Purpose, Statement of Ethics, and Law of the Hall. These documents will be read in their entirety and without additional commentary. At the conclusion of this episode listeners will have a good grasp of our kindred’s mission, philosophy, and goals. The format of today’s presentation will also answer many of our listener’s initial questions as to their interest in further study, discussion, or participation with our radio show community.
