The American-Danish-German band The Velvet Doors have succeeded in recreating the core sound and vibe of The Doors mixed with their own style. Their first single “Strange End” clearly shows the inspiration from bands like The Doors and The Animals and also demonstrates Guitarist and singer Tom Storm very expressive and wide-ranging vocals. Other band-members are Classical instrumentalist Jan Overgaard and rock-jazz drummer Heinz Müller. Almost all of the Lyrics of “Strange End” are based on a poem from an unknown writer, handwritten on the inner side of a book (The Book of Thel from William Blake) found in an old bookstore in Copenhagen. On the first page is hand written “From S. to Jim, 1968”. The Doors actually did a show for Danish Television September 18th. , 1968. "The Lyrics are great and we have restored them around a classical Doors Vibe in the same way you would restore and old Picasso painting”, says Tom Storm.
