Death in the Great Hall
Odysseus is a Greek king coming home from the war with the Trojans (the story told in the Iliad), and his journey home is fraught with peril and takes about ten years. When he gets home he is assumed to be dead, and his wife Penelope has several suitors, enough to have a banquet. Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar and then joins the feast, where a test is taking place to see who will marry Penelope. He passes the test, shooting an arrow through ten axe rings with his special bow, and then grabs a bunch of arrows along with the bow and jumps on the top of the door frame. This is what happens next.
