Unity in Contemplation, Thomas Keating, Q&A with Betty Sue Flowers

10.09.2022
A delightful question and answer session with Fr. Thomas Keating and Betty Sue Flowers, PhD. Betty Sue is a Professor Emeritus, writer, editor, and international business consultant. She has assisted Contemplative Outreach with numerous projects including the video series "Heartfulness - Transformation in Christ" with Fr. Thomas. Sprinkled with humor, humanity, and wisdom, this video covers topics such as the symbol of the cross, suffering, the fruits and gifts of the Spirit, and the value of the discipline of spiritual practices. They discuss the need to deal with common childish attitudes that adults have about God and religion, and how the biggest obstacle to spiritual growth is not accepting the call to transformation - a call that comes from the divine. This talk is part of a series titled "Unity in Contemplation: Talks on the Spiritual Journey," recorded February 20-21, 2009 in Austin, Texas, and sponsored by Contemplative Outreach. For more on Fr. Thomas and for support in the practice of Centering Prayer, go to http://www.contemplativeoutreach.org.
