The coating on every screen protector wears off after a while which means the device becomes prone to scratches. However, the strength of the glass does not change. If the screen protector didn’t break, we’d increase the height and find a new spot on the screen protector to test. We did this until we ran out of the brand of screen protector (i.e. if we had three panes of glass, we broke three panes of glass) At the bottom of the list is this screen protector that I paid one USD dollar for. It broke at 6cm’s which means it’s not even tempered glass. It’s just glass. Which makes since given that the packaging on the box wasn’t even printed. It was just a box. That smelled funny. Next up was the product from ESR breaking at 33 cm followed by Jetech at 62cm. So between these two budget brands, JetTech was better from an impact protection perspective which means it uses better glass and or has a better tempering process. Within this tempered glass grouping, Rhinoshield had the best glass. Pitaka, whose MagCase Pro is #5 in my Top 10 list included only an average tempered glass screen protector with their product which sucks. And Spigen’s latest screen protectors with the EZ fit applicator tray, broke at the same level as the JETech product. Sad. Now onto the higher quality products. In general, products in this category are made from Alumino Silicate which means they are doubled tempered. Most of these products broke between 81-93cm. On average, these products cost around $30 dollars.
