The Pilot of Know Your Lore. Transcript. The Ashbringer is a weapon that was forged from a crystal found during the 2nd war. Although the crystals power was used for evil it was able to be purified by Alexandros Mograine,Tirion Fordring and other leading members of the silver hand. The purified orb was then taken to Magni Bronzebeard who forged it into a mighty weapon to slay the undead that was threatening Lordaeron. After Alexandros fell at the hands of his own sons treatchery the ashbringer became corrupted when Renault Mograine was un-able to wield it. The Ashbringer would later come into the hands of Alexandros other son Darion Mograine. Darion used the weapon at the first battle of lights hope chappel to take his own life to save the argent dawn forces defending the chappel. But by taking his own life the sword remained corrupt and Darion fell into the hands of the scourge becomming a Death Knight. Darion is later seen wielding the corrupted ashbringer at the second battle for lights hope where he seeks to claim the souls that rest there for the lich king. But Tirion Fordring shows up and Darion realises that the battle is lost. But before Tirion can proclaim victory the lich king shows up and Darion passes the ashbringer onto Tirion who uses it to strike down the lich king securing their victory. The Ashbringer is later used in the campaign against the scourge in northrend and is what finishes of arthas (along with 25 other people) and this seems to be the current end of the ashbringers tale. Facts. #1. The purified ashbringer has never been obtainable in-game. How ever the corrupted ashbringer was obtainable from the 4-horsemen in old naxx. #2 if you brought the corrupted ashbringer to the scarlet monastery it would trigger an event where they announce you to be the next ashbringer. Only to have Alexandros spirit pop out when you reach Renault and kill him. #3 The ashbringer is one of the most recognaisable legendary weapons due to a movie series called Tales of The past 3 that centers around the main character hunting for the ashbringer. #4 Apparently the fisherman named Nat Pagle knows the location of the ashbringer before naxxrammas was implemented. His book revealing the location was supposed to start a quest for the ashbringer. But the quest was scrapped. #5 If you obtained the corrupted ashbringer you would sometimes hear it whisper to you if you had the sound on. The whispers revealed alot about the back story of the ashbringer as well as revealing that Alexandros knows that the whole scarlet crusade is corrupted. The ashbringers whisper ends with it screaming Kill them all (by them refering to the scarlet)
