Zei walked 514 feet today! Post-ECMO HD

UPDATE 8-17-18 No Mo’ Ecmo Day 97 [190 day Ecmo run] Trach Day 116 Stroke Day 91 Hospitalization Day 291 Zei walked 25 feet yesterday. And then walked 514 feet today. On camera. For her last day of filming “Inside Pediatrics” - a series through which I’ve met some of my newest yet dearest friends of Children’s Mercy...she was able to walk that incredible distance while on 70% support compared to her usual 100% FiO2 support during high activity. She is now asleep and still requiring 70% support. Who knows? I’m not worried. And I didn’t feel worried last week when I heard St. Louis was not ready to accept Zei for lung transplant evaluation. But somehow, yesterday, when I found out St. Louis is reconsidering and may take us for eval afterall, I felt a little tumble in my tummy. It’s still there. The tumbling. I’ve decided to not pay it any more attention than it deserves. “Be kind ~ Take action ~ Let it be.” There’s really no action for Zei and I to take right now...anymore than she already is. Walking 514 feet. I mean I could do some burpees, but there’s still going to be the unknown and St. Louis, just with better abs. So I am letting it be. The tummy tumble and the unknown and the soft abs. I suggest we all do the same. Let it be and get some sleep. It’s been a long and beautiful week. And we are all tired. Tired with tummies tumbling for things we cannot control. Sweet dreams. Praise the Lord for all the #tacosandtears Much love! Namaste.
