Other great channels like heavy Spoilers clips and new Rockstars already broke this opening down, and I’ll shout out their observations as I go along. Well done boys [confetti, cheers over erik and Paul] The opening title sequence depicts the Targrayn family tree flowing on Viserys model of Old Valyria, the ancestral Targaryan home. The flowing of the blood represents this family bloodline, but also the Targaryan blood that has been shed by other Targaryans. The first dial–which, by the way, islined with dragon scales–sepreents aegon the conqueror. It depicts dragonstone, the targrayn family home that was forged mby the magic of dragons. The dragons flying around dragonstone might even be building this castle, or maybe they;re fighting. Notice that anyo dial that represents a ruler bears a crown–like the sigil of a house once one of them becomes king [bran clip]. This dial represents Aegon the conqueror, the first king of westeros, and then its flooding represents his death. Erik voss at New rockstars pointed out that here the blood flows past this carving of dragons burning infantry, probably a depiction of Aegon’s conquest. It then flows into his two sister-wives, Rhaenys and Visenya. Visenya had a son named Maegor the cruel, who was mentioned in episode 1 [could be another Maegior, council meeting], and Rhaenys’s son was Aegon’s true heir, Anees. Next the line travels to my favorite King of Westeros, Jaehaerys, the Old king. And notice that hos crown matches the one that he wears in the show–and that Viserys also wears. Jaherys and his sister Viserys had 9 children, depicted by the nine blood lines which branch out like a tree. Only time the Targaryen bloodline branches. The rest of the time., it’s loop is more clos
