How to Make 3d Photos - Depth Photography Iphone 7 HD
This is how to capture depth data on your iPhone 7 Plus. Depth data is essentially a black and white image that reflects depth information. The lighter values mean the object is closer to the camera the darker values mean the object is farther back This depth map is often used in the visual effects industry. We call this z-depth - data along the z axis. We can now take pictures with depth information. With depth data you can do things like change the focus, add a foggy background, and achieve parallax effects. The iPhone 7 Plus has two cameras on the front. These two cameras essentially work like our two eyeballs. by comparing 2 images and subtracting the difference in parallax, the processor can calculate depth. In portrait mode, the iPhone knows how to blur out the background thanks to this depth data. The cool thing is that now with iOS 11 you can actually capture raw depth data as an image using the iPhone 7 Plus. At the moment I couldn’t find apps in the store, however, you can get developer code from apple’s developer website. Here is What you will need: A Mac with the latest OS that can run Xcode 11 Xcode 11 An iPhone 7 plus with a USB lightning cable Steps: 1) Install Xcode here: https://developer.apple.com/xcode/downloads/ 2) Download the 3 sample AVCam developer apps AVCam, Wiggle me (Using Depth Data), and AVCam photo filter. found here: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2017/507/ 3) Load the project file in Xcode, Plug in your phone, choosing your user, And push play. Do this for all three developer apps In this tutorial I also use: 1) Adobe After Effects project Volumax Pro to animate the 3d data image: https://videohive.net/item/volumax-3d-photo-animator/13646883?s_rank=1 2) Zbrush- to make 3d models out of depth data http://pixologic.com/ 3) Keyshot to render out my images: https://www.keyshot.com/
