How to Build a Simple Non-Latching Intruder Alarm Circuit with a PNP transistor and SPDT Relay

03.12.2014
This video demonstrates how to build a simple Non-Latching Intruder (Burglar) Alarm circuit with a PNP transistor, Single Pole Double Throw Relay, Piezo buzzer, and a few other components. It also includes an explanation of how the circuit functions (in terms of "conventional" current flow). Parts List: -(1) Normally Open momentary button -(1) Single Pole Double Throw Relay (RadioShack #275-0240 /QUAZ-SS-105D was used in the video. But most any single pole double throw relay would work. Note that the schematic might need to be slightly modified if one uses a relay with a different pinout) -(1) PNP transistor (2N2907 or 2N3906, BC548, etc.) -(1) diode (1N4148 or 1N4001, etc.) -(1) Piezo Buzzer (RadioShack# 273-059 was used in the video, but many other types of piezo style buzzers should work) -(1) 10K resistor -(1) 1K resistor power supply (6V DC will be fine for most 5V SPDT relays) -standard hookup wire -and breadboard Hope this video is helpful.
