See my YouTube Video “Make Primitive Spoons With Shells, Sticks and Pine Pitch" https://youtu.be/Or4qDoCByHQ This contest is open to subscribers worldwide over the age of 18. CONTEST CLOSED CARDBOARD OVEN. Make the cardboard oven from a corrugated cardboard box: cut into two pieces: 11 x 23 in rectangle and 8 in diameter circle. Glue heavy-duty aluminum foil to the cardboard with contact cement or white glue. Allow the glue to thoroughly dry for several days before using the oven. Cardboard insulation provides stable temperature control that is much better an oven with only aluminum sidewalls. Cut three 10 in long steel skewer from metal coat hangers. Sand the paint off the skewers. In this demonstration, charcoal (in a 6 in stainless steel dog bowl) provided the heat source. Sterno or BioFuel may alternatively be used. Do not heat the oven above 400 F. Do not expose the oven to direct flames of a campfire. BREAD RECIPE: Combine and dissolve: 1/4 cup starter (or 1 pkg yeast), 3/4 cup water, 2 tsp dry milk, 1tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt. Add to above 1. 5 cups flour and stir. Knead until smooth. Place in well greased bowl, cover and set aside until dough doubles (4 to 8 hours, depending on temperature). Place dough in bread pan and let rise for one hour before baking. Cook 20 - 30 minutes. STEAM OVEN: Put 1/8 cup of water in disposable mini loaf pan. Heat in oven until water begins boiling. Place loaf plan with bread dough in to pan with water. There should be at least 1/2 in space between the pans. The goal is to steam the bread (until the water evaporates) for the first 10 minutes of baking.
