old cast iron 177 polini vs the new aluminium polini 177 changes: - exhaust port shape slightly different, upper edge is more straight (end of vid 4:21) = more area in the corners - boostport only 1 port instead of 3 (so the polini is now only a 5 port as marketing likes to count all the single channels of a cyl) - clearlly better ported at the bottom - removable steel exhaust nozzle that cant break anymore, but without viton o-ring for sealing - new proper head - possibilty of central spark.plug - unneeded optik tuning: 8 screws for the head.. looks cool and important, but absolutely not neeses, looks like.polini copied pinasco here sad (so said as orange f..m.. would say): 1) very low cyl timings same low timings 166/108 as the old cast iron kit... why polini, why? why only exhaust port shape? 2) piston is a strenghtened copy of the old.one, the window still doesnt fit the transfer port why not a 100% state of the art piston? 3) weak power: cute 12hp for 400.- is not ok in 2017 pnp: definitely.not the first choice for a 177ccm tuning cylinder kit, as it is in the oiwer range of thr DR177 = only 135.- (DR the BEST and cheapest pnp tunung kit for vespa 125, if u dont want more but just a little.bit more power) further tuning: also not.the best choice for tuning, cause to weak = crankshaft, adjusting ports at the case FINE tuning: nice kit to play with as u can grave ur wish timings, but its needed to set the kit higher and hortening on top power: only 11,5hp and 14,1nm pnp with si24 and sip road is not acceptable for 400.- as it is DR177 level (=135,-) other 177 tuning kits have 15-16hp. diagrams: search4 "germanscooterforum polini 177 aluminium" &go to page 3 for dynamometer diagrams with div5 different box exhausts, original and then ported 14,7hp with siproad
