School of MAD: 48-Hour Film Challenge (Groups 1-25) HD
The School of Media, Art and Design (MAD) at Durham College launched a 48-hour film challenge at noon on Tuesday, October 11th (the day after Thanksgiving). Over 500 students from 9 MAD programs were exempt from classes for this four-day week to focus on filmmaking. 50 teams were each given a line of dialogue, a prop, a character type (tall dark stranger; ex-con that loves animals; etc.), and one of five genres. No two teams had the same parameters. The films were due Thursday, October 13th at noon. All 50 teams completed their films by deadline. Films were screened Friday, October 14th at the Oshawa Cineplex Odeon Theatre. Over 600 hundred people attended.
