Arrived - Buddy and Mr. T doing good - Inspecting New Pasture for Dangers - Rick Gore Horsemanship HD

25.02.2013
http://www.thinklikeahorse.org/ Just walking the fence line of new pasture looking for dangers, choke points, hazards and identifying weaknesses that horses may find or get hurt. Located in Dallas area. In this video you will see a horse use his nose to find food. In dog training it is called quartering, where the wind blows and brings a scent towards a horse or dog, the animal shows a change in behavior, drops his nose and moves back and forth to try and the strong scent, all while moving closer to the smell, as the scent gets stronger or weaker, the animal knows which way to go and eventually finds the object (food, people, water, etc.) Buddy smells a carrot I threw earlier and follows the scent to find it and eat it to get his reward.
