Nothing on snapping turtle bait lines the minnows have eaten all the meat off the hooks, I’m going to have to put more bait on the hooks. Right where I saw the fox in the swamp you can see his trail he has made going through the swamp, right were the ducks are hanging out at the creek, if the ducks were on the lake the fox would be out of luck getting any ducks. The moult the ducks are going through this time I have to say is the biggest moult I’ve seen yet, this is actually the first time I’ve seen the Rouen drakes in moult and they’ve lost their entire green colour on their heads. Somehow a duckling from the barn escaped and is with the rest of the flock, I’m going to have to catch the little thing and put it back with its own age, it’s too soon for it to be with the flock. The morning rush was lightning fast again today, the ducks are back in their groove again. The juvenile ducks I introduced last weekend after the leg tagging were the last ones out of the pen today, they seem to hang at the back during the morning rush I think they know it’s too dangerous for them to be among the adult and teenager ducks during the rush. Last night we got over 70mm (3 inches) of rain, so much rain I don’t have to wash out the pen mother nature gave it a good wash out for me. I had to go to town today I was only gone for 40 minutes and Mr. Fox returned, I know this because the ducks & geese were in the front yard they only go there if the fox is on the property. The rape victim isn’t going to make it, I’ve got to cull her I don’t want to waste her I want to eat her so I have to make time to do the cull so I can clean her and butcher her up. Ducks are ridiculously slow at going into the pen at night, I watched them from the back window of the house it was so funny watching them move in waves into the pen.
