At least half the ducks wasted no time in heading to the lake this morning, but something is happening on the way to the lake through the swamp that is causing half the flock to come back to the yard. I think I’m going to have to start armed escorts to the lake for the ducks. Lots of fox alarms today by the ducks, the fox is definitely seriously hunting the ducks on the property and they are freaking out. By mid afternoon we had 3 sightings of the fox but he’s fast I keep only getting glimpses of his tail as he darts behind the bushes, he so fast I can’t even get the gun off my back. I decided to wait on the hot tub with the rifle because he was coming back into the yard just too much today, and I fell asleep on the hot tub cover for over 40 minutes. When I woke up the ducks had surrounded me on the hot tub it was so cute to see so many of them so close to me when I woke up. No sooner did I put the video camera down and walk into the house the fox came back into the yard for a 4th time and this time once again he used the bushes to dart behind so I couldn’t get a shot off. I had no choice but to get the chainsaw out and start cutting more trees down so the fox has no where to dart behind and give me more of chance to get a shot off at him. Dug was also going crazy running through the swamp, and for the first time Dug was barking which is really strange because in 4 months of Dug being here he doesn’t bark so something was in the swamp for sure. You could tell the ducks were stressed today, they were hanging close to the house and didn’t seem to relax in the yard.
