Dog Festival - Kukur Tihar with Zazu the Labrador HD
Kukur Puja (Dog Worship Day or Dog Festival) We celebrate the 2nd day of Tihar (Diwali), as the day of the dog. In our culture dogs are considered guardians to the gates of heaven. Today we celebrate them and cherish their love, protection and the wonderful bond we share with them. The red vermilion, marigold garland symbolizes sacredness. Tihar, also called as Diwali or Deepawali. It usually takes place in Octorber to November according to the solar calendar and continues for five days. During this festival, people honor crows, dogs, cows as well as Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and luck. As numerous candles and festive lanterns will be lit up for the Goddess of Laxmi, Tihar is also well-known as the festival of lights. Hope you have fun watching this video.
