"An American Veteran" Singer/Song Writer: Bob Conway, Video Production: Bill Evans, Studio Guitarist: Joe Bauman, Recording Studio: Epicentre Recording, After returning from Vietnam, Bob Conway settled in West Los Angeles to work on his music career. And like so many veterans of the day, he was more devoted to leaving the past behind than embracing his experiences. Several decades would pass before Bob would discover the compassionate services of the nearby VA Medical Center, and subsequently, its dedicated golf course. In the weeks that followed, the time spent at the course transitioned to an opportunity for part-time work, where the camaraderie of fellow veterans instigated a renewed pride and self-appreciation for his prior service. Sometimes, the genesis of a great song can be traced to a specific event or a chance meeting, maybe a vivid dream or a poignant moment in time. And sometimes, it might have been there all along, lying quietly concealed behind the walls of denial, merely waiting for the inspiration of welcoming arms offered by fellow veterans. Bob wrote "An American Veteran" as a tribute to all past, present and future veterans of the United States military... We salute you.
