Driving Through Hebron, West Bank, November 2009

View from the bus as we drive through the ghost-town that is Hebron, past checkpoints, to the cave of Machpelah where Abraham is buried. Hebron (or al-Khalil) is the largest city in the West Bank, located 30 kilometers south of Jerusalem. Home of 166,000 Palestinians, they are by and large banned from the area we drive through, save for 20 permits for car to drive the roads.
