20 ton Rock Dead lift Touch and Go

The lowboy was carrying a 20 ton rock to the North Jetyy rebuild project . His lowboy suffered a sheared pin which dropped the rails of the lowboy onto the ground . The driver was lucky enough to have gotten the load off the road in such a good spot . I pulled into the state turn out had the driver yank the trailer forward 6 feet so I could get the rock centered to my boom . The first attempt did not go well I tried to lift the rock using chains and my winches no luck . I took a few minutes to size up the rock and decided to lift the rear of the rock using my heavy safty chains that are permently attached to the first stage of the boom . I then hooked two snatch blocks on my recovery winches . Using the boom to lift next to my truck and the winches to roll the rock up it took about 10 minutes to clear the trailer . This is the heaviest dead lift I have ever done with this truck . It was a 32 miles driver to where the lowboy was . I started at 12 noon and got back to my shop at 3 PM . We were on scen approx, 1 hour and 15 minutes .
