Title: Asian Games Incheon 2014: All you need to know on opening night The 17th Asian Games... have officially begun in Korea′s western port city of Incheon. This is the biggest sporting event in the region... in terms of participating athletes, medals and sports. 95-hundred athletes will take part in 36 different sports... where 4-hundred-39 gold medals are up for grabs that′s more than the Olympics. Yes you′ll see sports like bowling and sepak takraw... a southeast Asian kick volleyball. Song Ji-sun joins us now for details of the opening night. It was a showstopping performance full of Korea′s brightest stars. That′s right. The Asian Games opened with a ceremony at 6 p.m. Korea time, this Friday,... marking the beginning of its 16-day journey. Much like the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics got off to a start with a boy rolling a hoop,... the Incheon Asian games will open with a girl doing the same - a 13-year-old rhythmic gymnast from the host city who actually made use of the appartus by flaunting her gymnastics skills. The cultural performances were definitely NOT be focused on flaunting national power like in the previous Asian Games like the event′s executive producer Lim Kwon-taek explained beforehand. The four acts of the show center around the theme, "Asia as One," portraying the past, present and the future of Asia in the most unexpected scheme.
