How long does it take to learn a language? How long to learn English? How can I learn English fast? How long to learn a second language? Learning a second language can be fun and rewarding. In this lecture I (Josh Wedlock / 조쉬 웨드락) will explain the importance of frequency (e.g. word frequency for vocabulary development, second language input frequency, structure frequency, etc.) for second language learning and acquisition. I will also discuss the role of time. Research suggests that the amount of time exposed to the language and time spent engaging (i.e., speaking, reading, writing, and listening for a purpose) with the chosen language are of paramount importance to learning a second language.
