Norfolk Southern Train Y90 Derailment Clean Up Altoona, PA 4.10.2021 HD

Here is a video I made of the clean up efforts after NS Y90 derailed in downtown Altoona on yard track 1. The cause of derailment was likely due to bad tracks. Four cars came off the rails with one flipped on its side and another car still on the rails taking some minor damage from the derailed cars. The train derailed around 10:30pm on April 9 and clean up efforts likely started around sunrise. The cars that were not derailed continued their way towards Baltimore while the damaged ones were left behind. While I was there, I decided to document some of the clean up efforts, which include the removal of a damaged rail and rerailing one of the coal hoppers. Because the train did not foul the main lines after derailing, there was little impact on the Pittsburgh Line. The area became a form B and trains are then required to go slow and sound their horns when passing by the clean up site.
