=== Joe took a deep breath before opening the door to the backseat of his car, unable to wipe away the huge smile from his face when he saw his son waking up in his car-seat. “Did all these loud people wake you up, monster?” Joe cooed, taking the blanket away from the baby’s lap as the baby whined and rubbed his eyes but he looked around himself as Joe got him out of the car. https://weheartit.com/entry/311163087 “Where are we, James?” Joe asked in a baby voice, James staying silent in his half-asleep state but Joe chuckled as he noticed James waving and squealing and he followed James’ gaze to across the street where the crowd was already gathering, where a few teenage girls had noticed the baby and were waving at him and cooing to him. “You’re already a ladies man, huh?” He said playfully, kissing his cheek before going into the trunk to get out the baby bag and he swung it over his shoulder before heading across the street, going up the steps to go into the venue. “I’m sorry, but it’s VIP passes only beyond this point.” A security guard stopped him and Joe nodded his head. “I have passes.” He said quickly, before awkwardly digging into his inner jacket pocket and he shushed James gently as the little boy whined at the movement. “Here.” Joe handed over the passes once he found them, along with his tickets and ID and the security guard looked at the baby in his arms. “You’re bringing a baby in here?” The security guard questioned and Joe’s eyebrows creased together in confusion. “I looked online and there wasn’t anything saying I couldn’t.” Joe said and the security guard handed Joe back his passes, tickets and ID, watching as Joe awkwardly stuffed it all back into his pocket. “Have a good time, I guess.” The guard said with a shrug and Joe fought his want to roll his eyes before heading inside the building and he joined the line of what was mostly teenagers waiting in line near a sign that assured him he was in the right place: ‘Meet and Greet’. “Oh my God, he’s so cute!” One of the teenage girls in front of Joe cooed, grinning at the baby but James kept his head laid against Joe’s shoulder, yawning. “He knows it too! He’s just a little sleepy.” Joe said politely and the girl laughed, smiling. “How old is he?” “James? He’s eight months.” Joe said, keeping his tone polite even though he could still feel his heart hammering against his chest out of pure nerves. The most he’d done in months was go to the park with James or to the grocery store- being in a steadily increasing meet and greet line wasn’t helping his anxiety. “And he’s a fan too?” The teenager asked, obviously amused and Joe forced a smile, nodding his head. “Something like that.” He said. It was nearly impossible to keep James entertained as they were forced to wait in line, the team from the meet and greet pulling Joe aside to discuss amongst themselves whether a child James’ age should be allowed whilst they checked the rest of the line in.
