Oscar I and Tsar Nicholas I
In the year 1830 Crownprince Oscar and his friend Magnus Brahe (earl, see the pic) visit Tsar Nicholas I in Saint-Petersburg, it was a friend-visit and they joined great perfomance at the palace there. In 1838 the Tsar and his son - Alexander (coming Tsar Alexander II) - visit Stockholm and met Karl XIV Johan and Oscar, they lived at Rosersbergs castle. Oscar Bernadotte was king over Sweden and Norway 1844-1859. He was also the last king in Sweden with real power. Pics on Swedish castles: Drottningholm, Stockholm castle, Ulriksdal, Rosersberg. Russian castles: the Winterpalace in Saint-Petersburg, Peterhof and the Catherine palace. The wonderful ortodox church is: "The church on the blood" in Saint-Petersburg. It was built on the place were Alexander II was deadly wounded in an assassination attempt 1881.
