(Harry Fisher, The Morning Call) By Dante Terenzio Special to The Morning Call College Sports High School Sports Stony Brook University Lehigh’s Robinson stands out in all-star football game Lehigh’s Jamil Robinson saved his best for last. In his final collegiate football game, Robinson hauled in two clutch receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown to lead the White all-star team to a 24-14 win over the Red all-star team. Robinson was named the game’s MVP.The senior wide receiver turned in a memorable performance at Sunday morning’s Inaugural Globe Bowl held at Salisbury High School. The Globe Bowl, which is presented by East Preps LLC, attracted some of the top NCAA FCS, Division II and III players from all over the country. Approximately 60 athletes competed in the event.”I’m very joyful, excited, thankful,” Robinson said. “This was an awesome opportunity and it is definitely something I will think about for a long time.” “Scoring felt awesome, especially with the energy from the sideline and in the stands,” Robinson said. “It’s been a while since I last scored. My career had its ups and downs, but this was an awesome opportunity. I’m glad I could be out on the field with all of these talented players.” SUNY Maritime University’s Greg Canepero scored on a 3-yard touchdown run, giving the White squad a 14-0 lead at the half.Robinson’s first grab was a 28-yard touchdown pass from Stony Brook University‘s Craig Geohagen. After a pass interference penalty was called against the Red team, Robinson’s impressive catch gave the White team a 7-0 lead. The Red team put together a solid drive to open the second half but squandered the opportunity after fumbling the ball into the end zone for a White team touchback.
