From 1990 to 2000, London Underground Ltd operated a programme of steam trains between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham over two weekends in July. In 1992 the event moved to the end of May. A feature of many of the events was the parallel running along the fast lines from Harrow on the Hill of two steam hauled trains.
