Whiplash Caravan Drum Solo*Loomer-Castellano Jazz Duo

Caravan is a jazz standard written by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington. All the great jazz drummers from Buddy Rich,Gene Krupa,Joe Morello,Dave Weckl ,Roy Haynes,Steve Smith,Jo Jones,Louie Bellson,,Sonny Payne,Mel Lewis,Jeff Hamilton, and many more have played Caravan. So great to see Hollywood do a movie called WHIPLASH about a jazz drummer who wants to be the best and with the wonderful jazz soundtrack they have in this movie. Of course the big ending is this drummer playing Caravan and doing his drum solo,wanting to please his music teacher and that he has what it takes to be a great drummer. I`m playing on my classic Slingerland 1971 BR drum kit,with all the original hardware on this jazz standard. Tony Castellano Jr. on piano and keyboard bass wrote this new arrangement of Caravan and I`m playing it for the first time. We had a guest player,Charlie the "Spoon Man" doing his thing on this number. Never know who will come up to join us when we play at Jazz Night at "Ruby`s" in St. Petersburg,Florida.
