2 Baby Seal DOUBLE RESCUE HD

Double rescue for Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN): Antoine and Naude spotted 2 seals in our local seal colony at Pelican Point (near Walvis Bay and Swakopmund). Tony quickly grabbed the first seal with our custom build seal net. Once immobilized, he sprinted to Naude, who had already caught the other seal by hand. Namib_Naude needed help to cut the bundle of fishing line loose. It was a recent entanglement, the seal did not have any permanent damage from it. As soon as he was freed, he hobbled back to his friends in the water. The other seal had patiently waited for Naude Dreyer and Antoine to come back. They quickly opened the zipper, and within a few seconds, they managed to cut a piece of strong nylon fabric off. We are not sure what exactly the entanglement might have been, but it looked the the inner lining of a hat. As soon as he was out of the net, he also went back to the safety of the colony. The two seals sleeping next to all the action are alive and well, they just did not care one little bit what was going on around them.
