Trisha Roselle: Breaking Free From Barrenness (Psalm 107:35) HD

08.05.2022
Trisha speaks at King of Kings on Mother’s Day, 5/8/2022. Psalm 107:35-36 in the Passion Translation says, “But he also can turn a barren wilderness into an oasis with water! He can make springs flow into desert lands and turn them into fertile valleys so that cities spring up, and he gives it all to those who are hungry.” Be blessed! You’ve been “blessed to be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2) Pay it forward! Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. 1 Samuel 1 (MSG) 3-7 Every year this man went from his hometown up to Shiloh to worship and offer a sacrifice to GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies. Eli and his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, served as the priests of GOD there. When Elkanah sacrificed, he passed helpings from the sacrificial meal around to his wife Peninnah and all her children, but he always gave an especially generous helping to Hannah because he loved her so much, and because GOD had not given her children. 1 Samuel 1 (NKJV) 6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb. Rival: ADVERSARY – enemy; oppressor; to show hostility towards. Provoked: inward commotion, torment. Shiloh: a place of rest 1 Samuel 1 (NKJV) 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction (misery) of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” 1 Samuel 1 (KJV) 15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. Sorrowful spirit: stiff-necked, vexed, intense, stubborn, rigorous of battle. Hard pressed. Barrenness exposes the heart. 1 Samuel 1 (Voice) 15 Hannah: My lord, I am not drunk on wine or any strong drink; I am just a woman with a wounded spirit. I have been pouring out the pain in my soul before the Eternal One. 16 Please don’t consider your servant some worthless woman just because I have been speaking for so long out of worry and exasperation. 17 Eli answered her and said go in peace, the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of HIM. Psalm 107:35-36 (TPT) But he also can turn a barren wilderness into an oasis with water! He can make springs flow in
