The camera captured me by surprise today and caught me flossing! It’s something I do every day, but not usually with an audience. Since healthy gums with zero bleeding are essential for LIVING YOUNGER, I’ll just use this topic for today’s Art Smart Minute. Healthy gums don’t bleed. Bleeding gums negatively affect every part of your body, including your brain. START SOMEWHERE flossing today, even if it’s just your front teeth. You’ll build dexterity and soon it will be second nature. Find a skilled dental hygienist who also has zero tolerance for gum inflammation and will help you get your mouth healthy. Today’s Snail Mail is very different! As I was doing it, I thought it was headed for ephemera in my Art Journal. Nevertheless, the final product is very interesting. I wish you could feel of it; the texture is rich and thick. If you don’t have many pieces of printed tissue paper, make your own using archival ink stamped on a plain sheet of tissue. Try this basic technique for an encouragement card with molding paste and see what you think! Here’s what I used: -Mix Media Paper - Canson (http://www.dickblick.com/products/canson-xl-mix-media-pads/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=12468-1022&gclid=CNmStLS_n9ICFVKEfgod1hsLAw) -Printed Tissue Paper - Tim Holtz idea-ology “Postale” (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Idea-Ology-Tissue-Wrap-12-X-15-Postale/40507792?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1453&adid=22222222227027824502&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=59568266889&wl4=pla-93073135209&wl5=9026261&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112550049&wl11=online&wl12=40507792&wl13=&veh=sem) -Matte Medium - Liquitex (http://www.dickblick.com/products/liquitex-gloss-and-matte-mediums/) -Molding Paste - Liquitex (http://www.dickblick.com/products/liquitex-acrylic-mediums/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=00618-3115&gclid=CLPek9C_n9ICFURrfgodrjAIMg) -Palette knife (http://www.dickblick.com/categories/paintingknives/) -Large Stencil - Dylusions Chequered Dots 9 x 12 (https://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/Dyan-Reaveleys-Dylusions-Stencils-9-X12-Chequered-Dots/6784259/product.html) -Acrylic Paint - My Art-C in Silvergold, Magenta, & Steel Blue (https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=My%20Art-C%20arylic%20paint) -Gloves -Text Stickers - Tim Holtz idea-ology Small Talk (http://www.joann.com/tim-holtz-idea-ology-4.5inx8.5in-spiral-bound-sticker-book-small-talk-occasions/14634638.html) My molding paste was getting dried out and was initially too thick to work with.
