According to their sources, story elements from the popular comic series Planet Hulk will be adapted into Thor: Ragnarok. While specifics are still unclear, the report mentions the gladiator games of Planet Hulk will factor into the story with Thor somehow becoming involved with the games that will be overseen by Jeff Goldbum’s character, The Grandmaster. Jo Blo’s report goes on to state that the story will involve Thor tracking down “the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe. Force Awakens screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan was recently speaking to the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival about his prolific career when the conversation turned to his work on the next Star Wars Story that will focus on a Young Han Solo, starring Hail Caesar actor Alden Ehrenreich. Kasdan and his son Jon are currently hard at work on the solo movie that will feature Han and his trusted companion Chewbacca. The string of live-action remakes and adaptations from Disney’s library of classics continues with the latest announcement coming yesterday announcing a title and release date for its Mary Poppins sequel/reboot: Mary Poppins Returns. Emily Blunt will play the magical nanny that takes care of a pair of troublesome kids. She will be joined by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the musical-theater genius behind Hamilton, who will play a street-lamp lighter named Jack, a new creation for the film. Transformers The Last Knight is already in full marketing gear with Michael Bay yesterday taking to his Instagram account to reveal the villain for the fifth movie in the series and it should be no big surprise for the hard core fan. Bay’s reminder of the film’s start-of-production date came with a bundled revelation that Megatron will be returning, with his post featuring a close-up of the Decepticon leader’s face.
