The PACT Institute: What does it mean to have a secure-functioning relationship? HD

01.10.2014
PACT is a fusion of developmental neuroscience, attachment theory, and arousal regulation and has a strong therapeutic stance that guides clinicians to help couples develop secure-functioning relationships. They do this by understanding early attachment and its effect on brain and nervous system development, and its influence on current experience in relationships. PACT teaches clinicians how to "catch people in the act of being themselves." About Stan: Dr. Tatkin is a leader in the couple therapy world and has written three books—Wired for Love, Love and War, and Your Brain on Love—on the subject. He has a clinical practice in Southern California, teaches at Kaiser Permanente, and is an assistant clinical professor at UCLA. Tatkin developed a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT®) and together with his wife, Tracey Boldemann-Tatkin, founded the PACT Institute. www.ThePACTInstitute.com
