Hongbo Zhang, Bloomberg New York Haskell Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/NY-Haskell/events/232382379/) July 27, 2016 Slides: http://bloomberg.github.io/bucklescript/slides/Haskell_meetup.html The JavaScript platform runs everywhere with an extensive ecosystem but can rapidly become hard to maintain for large applications. OCaml is a very expressive and safe language which works well on such a use case. In this talk we will introduce a new OCaml backend for Javascript, called BuckleScript, and designed for seamless integration with the JavaScript world. We will show how OCaml developers can leverage the JavaScript tooling for both daily development as well as the release of their software (including to browsers and node.js both). We will also talk about the design of BuckleScript FFI and how it is different from PureScript and GHCJS.
