The Xplorer is available in three models: the “V” includes an integrated, gimbal-mounted 1080p high-definition video camera; the “G,” which includes a three-axis gimbal compatible with GoPro Hero sports cameras, and the base model, which includes neither a camera nor a gimbal. The crew tests the “V” model, which arrives in a Ready-To-Fly (RTF) kit, including the aircraft and camera gimbal, as well as the control radio, battery, battery charger, propellers and other accessories. The Xplorer provides a First-Person View (FPV) video stream to either an Android or iOS smart device by means of a WiFi range extender, also included. During the flight testing portion of the episode, the crew demonstrates the compass calibration technique and measures its flying time with a hover test.
