While it would be great to always have the time to call in an expert to deal with a found weapon, such is not always feasible. Here we have a “the least you should know” type training video covering the most common types of weapons needing to be unloaded or “rendered safe” by public safety personnel. It is intended to provide a minimum competency level for persons who do not routinely handle firearms as a part of their job or lifestyle but who might, in an emergency, have to safely handle one to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
