Residents re-echo appeal for speedy completion of work on Ikpoba Hill gully

Residents of Ikpoba Hill, Benin City have called on the Federal Ministry of Works to speed up work at the gully and erosion control at the Ikpoba Hill axis of the road. The residents though expressed joy at the quality and progress of work, called on relevant government agencies to construct pavement with markings and erect road signs to warn and protect motorists who ply the road. Men and equipment on ground at the gully erosion control site at Ikpobal Hill, Benin City. The devastation which has almost taken over one part of the road has been filled with sand while a drainage has also been constructed channel water. Some residents of the area who commended independent television and radio for drawing the attention of the federal ministry of works to the danger posed by the gully construction work has recorded an appreciable level as appealed to the federal ministry of works to ensure speedy completion of the job. Commenting on the level of work done so far, the Federal Controller of Works, Edo State, Engineer Owhe Oke who spoke off camera at the site and assured that there are no plans by the ministry to abandon the project.
