When we talk about weapons in video games, we often talk about chainsaws, automatic rifles and awesome swords. But we feel hammers are really under appreciated. So in the name of Thor here are the eight most awesome hammers in video games! Mjolnir (Thor) - Marvel Ultimate Alliance / Thor movie games Sure, technically it’s a comic book weapon, but we couldn’t make this list without it. Thor starred in a number of great video games and was always accompanied by his trusty hammer. His hammer is mighty strong and even lets him fly. Talk about a multifunctional tool. 2. War Hammer (Rachel) - Ninja Gaiden Sigma & Sigma 2 Rachel is a pretty bad ass warrior in the Ninja Gaiden series. Her weapon of choice is a gigantic hammer which she uses to pummels a ton of demons. Despite its enormous size she manages to keep up with the super fast Ryu Hayabusa. Doesn’t that make her the ultimate hammer ninja? 3. Mario’s Hammer (Super Mario) - Many games The hammer is kind of special to Mario because it was the first weapon he ever used in a game. The legacy of the hammer continued as a power up in Super Mario Bros. 3. It became his main weapon in the Mario & Luigi RPG games and even as a baby Mario was rocking the hammer.
