004 TRX Head Stand Pike and Dip.MOV
Adapted from another move from the Pilates reformer. This is a good neck strengthener and stretcher... still engaging the core at all times to get a nice pike. I saw Floyd Mayweather Jr. on 24/7 wearing this weighted neck contraption, looks like the cap you put when you kill someone on the electric chair, he is on his stomach in the ring, head sticking out of the ring and he bobs his head up and down pulling that weight. Helps keep the neck strong to prevent whiplash when receiving punches. This exercise would be a a good alternative to that, using bodyweight and training the core at the same time. Do not put the top of your head on the mat surface, instead put your hairline on the mat (unless hairline receding ;-) ). The pike up strengthens and compresses the neck, and as you stretch out and dip the hips, the lower the hips get to the ground, the deeper the stretch in the cervical spine.
