24.10.2014
Driven by a vision of what it takes to be sustainable in water, Singapore has been investing in research and technology. Today, the nation has built a robust, diversified and sustainable water supply from four different sources known as the Four National Taps (water from local catchment areas, imported water, reclaimed water known as NEWater and desalinated water). Singaporeans have been enjoying good quality water for the last five decades as it has a sound watershed management, an effective water treatment processes and continued investments in R&D. This video shows how water from the reservoirs is treated at the Waterworks before it is sent to consumers. Singapore’s tap water is well within the World Health Organisation drinking water guidelines, and is suitable for drinking without any further filtration.
