Way Down Elvis Jerry Scheff bass line HD
Please use headphones for best audio...When Jerry recorded this bass line in the jungle room of Graceland, the TCB band spiked him with drugs, and he went sparko, but it was recorded later that night when he recovered ! it been ages since i played this and here playing most from memory and feel, but its pretty much based around the blues scale in C. Recorded in October 1976, it was his last single released before his death on August 16, 1977. The recording also featured J.D. Sumner singing the words "way on down" at the end of each chorus down to the note low C. At the end of the song, this phrase is octaved, reaching a double low C (C1, three octaves below middle C). According to the Guinness Book of World Records it is the lowest recorded note ever produced by the human voice...not on this track though. But in the original recording. Also Jerry dropped in the low C on the last note afterwards, but of course on a five stringer the note is there anyway. As always no bass backing tracks
