Bathroom Renovation- Drywall Taping- 1st and 2nd coat (Part 1) http://www.russolinatzpainting.com In this video, I show you how to drywall tape (1st and 2nd Coat) a newly installed piece of drywall that has a wide gap. I profile the drywall Butt joint and drywall factory joints. I pre-fill or pack the gap first with a Setting type mud (Plaster of Paris mixed with USG All Purpose joint compound). This not only fills the gap, but also creates a smoother surface to tape to and allows the drywall paper tape to embed to a more even surface, resulting in less bubbling. I also fill the drywall screw holes and fix some other imperfections in the old drywall using the Plaster of Paris quick set mud.
