DIY How to Fix a Bad Skim Coat Wall Job using Hawk & 16 inch Trowel (Part 3) - Dry Wall Repair http://www.russolinatzpainting.com In this video, I start off again by shaving away any Ridge lines from the middle of the wall with my 6 inch taping blade. I then explain that now I will be Skimming the mud horizontally to fill in any valleys or low spots that where incurred from the 1st vertical skim. I then use a technique by turning the Trowel back a little bit to account for gravity. I try and focus on keeping the mud in the middle of the 16 inch trowel for better mud control.
