Pumping Station Design with BIM for Plant Solutions HD

With the BIM tools found in the AEC Collection, you can address all aspects of Water/Wastewater design. This short video is an example of how you can use those tools on a greenfield pump station project. Author Name: Andy Manze - https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-ma... AutoCAD Plant 3D is used to define the process requirements for the water facility and will use AutoCAD features to define the process database behind the schematic drawing as the drawing is being created and edited. Producing error-free reports such as equipment and line lists then becomes an easy task. The piping model is the 3D representation of the P&ID and the data can be accessed while we are creating the piping. Lines and components are selected from the P&ID line list. Selecting the line transfers the P&ID data and also accesses the piping spec and catalog to place the correct valve along with its mating flanges. Once the equipment has been modeled, we can combine the plant 3d model with the Revit building to enable the creation of the piping support steelwork with the aid of fully automatic steelwork connections. A federated Navisworks model can then be created to detect and manage clashes between the pipework and supporting steelwork as well as the remaining structure and services. At any point in this process, an InfraWorks model can be created to track the progress of the building and equipment creation together with the many other various disciplines as they progress within the wider context of the project environment.
