[Sample Answer] Q#1 Well, some people may say that using the internet is more efficient to get information. But as far as I’m concerned, printed materials like books and articles are more reliable. The biggest reason is that websites can be edited by anyone in the world, regardless of whether or not they are qualified academics. Let me tell you about my experience back when I was in high school. I cited data that I found on a Website which later turned out to be incorrect. The data was so wrong that my teacher spotted it right away, causing me to fail the assignment and got a low grade. So, ever since that incident, I always try to go to the library to get important information even though it takes more time. Q#2 In the reading passage, it says the university has a plan to spend 2 million dollars to build a new athletic stadium to attract more top students and to strengthen its relationship with the town. However, the woman in the conversation disagrees with it for the following two reasons. First, they won’t understand the appeal. To be specific, the science laboratories have old equipment and the library needs more books. Plus, the student center is too small. They have to use the money on these to achieve their goal. Second, this cannot help relationships. To be more specific, people in town hardly come to games because their teams always lose. Just adding seats is not helpful. Q#3 According to the reading passage, even as conditions change and we see objects differently, we still recognize that they remain the same. This is perceptual constancy. On top of that, in the psychology class, the professor explains it by using two examples. First, if you hold the plate right in front of your face, it looks like a perfect circle. However, if you tilt the plate to a different angle, it would change shape. Even if it looks different, we recognize it as still being the same. Another example is that if you sit in the front row in the classroom, the teacher who is in front of you looks kind of big. But the next day, if you sit in a back row, the teacher looks smaller. No matter where you are, he is the same person. Q#4 In the biology class, the professor explains two kinds of camouflage of sea animals. The first one is to blend into a specific part of the sea. For example, the leafy sea dragon has green leaf-like protrusions sticking out like arms. Thanks to this color and shape, it can blend in with green sea plants. That’s why the predators have trouble finding it. But if it is not in these green spots, this camouflage doesn’t work. The other one is to change color. For instance, the cuttlefish can change their color. It means they can blend into any environment because they have shifting pigments that allow changing color immediately. If they swim by green sea plant, they’ll turn green and if they swim over the brown seafloor, they’ll turn brown.
